The AYE Holiday Gift Guide

Nov 21, 2018

Happy almost Thanksgiving, friends! With Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday all just around the corner (and with many sales already starting as of Monday this week), I’m sharing with you the 2018 AYE Holiday Gift Guide featuring hand picked gifts for everyone in your life, including those loved ones who are always hard to shop for!

I’ve grouped all gifts below into four categories: for her, for him, for kids and for those people who are hard to shop for! These gifts range in price from under $30 to more investment pieces over $100 for those primary gifts for those nearest and dearest! When I created this list, I included gifts that I have either gifted before that have been a huge hit, products I’ve received before that I have loved, as well as gifts that are on my own wishlist and my husband’s wishlist this year! All links for every single item featured are included below for ease of shopping.

Gifts for Her

  1. Tassel Earrings: the perfect statement earring for a night out, to jazz up an outfit of a simple cozy sweater with leggings, all of the celebrations over the holidays including New Years and more. And these earrings come in a few different colors and they are fair trade by Lauren Conrad’s company, The Little Market.

  2. Chenille Leggings: Run, don’t walk to purchase these leggings (I also might say treat yourself to these now during Black Friday rather than waiting for them to be under your Christmas tree). Perfect for my boss lady friends who work from a home office, these Anthropologie leggings are HEAVEN. They are like wearing a cozy cloud and perfect for snuggling by the fire. Pair a white cardigan or a cozy sweatshirt and you won’t want to leave your house all winter. And yes, they come in black too!

  3. Overose Candle in Nudesse: Because who doesn’t love a gorgeous dusty rose candle that fills your house with the scent of fresh flowers and looks stunning on your coffee table, nightstand or kitchen counter.

  4. The Perfect Plaid Blanket Scarf: Shout out to my friend Meredith for recommending this perfect plaid blanket scarf for this gift guide. It’s so perfectly oversized, the ideal plaid pattern (not too Christmas-y), softer than any scarf you own and matches everything.

  5. Velvet Gal Meets Glam Dress: Just a stunning, elegant and flattering dress for so many body types in such a lovely shade of blush.

  6. Earmuffs: These soft and chic earmuffs come in multiple colors and at their current price point this week they are under $25 and a fun stocking stuffer.

  7. iPhone Printer: I LOVE this gift for everyone, especially for mothers who would love photos of their little ones in an instant to frame, give to grandparents and more. This one is on my own list this year to print so many of the gorgeous images from our honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast of Italy.

  8. Gigi New York Clutch: Gift this clutch to your best friend and she will likely cry in excitement! Gigi New York clutches are my favorite (thanks to my best friend Alex who recommended this company to me years ago), and this structured tassel adorned statement clutch is one of my all time favorites as it can fit everything you need while still looking chic. You can personalize the bag with a monogram in matte gold for an extra special touch.

  9. Jo Malone Fragrance Set: Ideal for anyone on your list, this stellar set features five of the Jo Malone best selling fragrances that can be worn alone or layered on top of each other to create your own signature fragrance!

  10. Kate Spade Going Places Travel Scarf: For the traveling gal in your life, this gorgeous silk scarf is a perfect headscarf, accessory to tie on the handle of her Louis Vuitton Neverfull or around her neck when on the go.

  11. JCrew Mocassin Slippers: Comfy, tried and true, under $30. Enough said.

  12. The Delicate Everyday Necklace: I love a dainty and delicate necklace that matches everything and can be worn everyday. This small business GLDNxLayered and Long on Etsy has the best everyday jewelry that I personally have purchased as gifts time and time again, all of which can be monogrammed or personalized for a custom gift your loved one will adore.

GIFTS FOR HIM

  1. The Original RayBan Wayfarers: A classic quality pair of sunglasses that look good on every guy and complete every outfit he owns.

  2. Le Labo Santal 33: Cologne is hard to buy as a gift unless you know the exact fragrance someone would like. But with Le Labo Santal 33, this unisex cologne featuring cedar and musk changes with each person’s pheromones to create a signature individual scent — and everyone will want to know what it is you’re wearing. If you’re still unsure about choosing one cologne, try the Le Labo Discovery Kit featuring all of their scents so he can pick his own new signature scent.

  3. The Old Fashioned Gift Box: One of my favorite small businesses called Teak and Twine creates the perfect curated gift boxes for every person and for every occasion. This box includes all of the gourmet fixings (including some unexpected ingredients like pine essence) to create the perfect Old Fashioned cocktail.

  4. The Record Player: For the music lovers in your life. Make sure to include a few vintage vinyls (maybe even a Christmas album) so you can start using it right away on Christmas morning.

  5. Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds: These headphones are on every list this year, and these are some of my husband’s favorites.

  6. JCrew Trekker Vest: Masculine, warm, universal. Goals.

  7. Chemix Pour Over Coffee Maker: For the coffee loving man in your life who appreciates a strong, craft cup of coffee.

  8. Apple Airpods: Airpods are so many of the wishlists this year, so why not get them what they want?!

  9. Airpod Charging Travel Case: Add in this charging port box as an accessory to #8 to complete the gift and make him a happy camper!

  10. JCrew Mocassin Slippers: These slippers are a favorite for all. You can’t go wrong.

  11. Yeti Cooler: Okay, I know this is a high ticket item but if you want to see the man in your life’s eyes light up, this cooler is a gem. It keeps everything cold for over 24 hours and is perfect for beach trips, fishing trips, golfing, parties, road trips and more. Fill it with his favorite beverages and put it under the tree on display.

GIFTS FOR THE KIDS

  1. Newborn Baby Gift: Another Teak and Twine favorite, this gift box includes all the things a newborn and his or her parents comfortable and happy over the holidays. This gift will be loved so much by all.

  2. The Velveteen Rabbit Collector’s Book: Hands down, this is my absolute favorite gift to give to children of all ages. The Velveteen Rabbit was one of my favorite books as a child — an emotional tale filled with the magic of their favorite toy becoming real. This collector’s edition is not only fun to read, but looks beautiful on any bookshelf.

  3. The Velveteen Rabbit Plush Toy: Pair this stuffed animal rabbit from the book with the book for a gift that will truly be loved by your little one.

  4. Instax Camera with Film: For that tough age range to buy for from 8-12 years old. This instant camera comes in all different colors will have any child and preteen overjoyed when opening. Make sure to buy extra film to go with it!

  5. LEGO Starter Kit: This kit has everything you need to begin a collection of LEGOs for the little man (or little lady!) who loves to build things. Notice the age range depicted on the box – it’s a perfect gift for all ages 🙂

  6. Laser X Gaming Set: So, I bought this gift for my 7 year old nephew last year and he hasn’t stopped playing since! Pull down the shades or head to the basement to turn your house into a laser tag zone. I’ll be buying this gift for EVERY boy in our family this year.

  7. Joanna Gaines’ Designed Farmhouse/Dollhouse: This dollhouse is the cutest with an open concept floor plan, porch and minimalistic design inside. Any girl would love this gift, and they can make it truly their own by adding decor from all different brands inside.

  8. Petite Palm Shopper: If you know me, you know I own a dozen French market basket bags — they are great for anything! Purchase this mini version of the bag for any little one who wants to be like her mommy, auntie, sister, etc and have her own French Market basket bag to shop with! You can also fill it with a plethora of small wrapped gifts and place under the tree for extra pretty Christmas packaging!

  9. Ice Cream Cart: While I love little kitchen sets, I couldn’t help but fall in love with this ice cream cart with all of the colorful play ice cream, popsicles and ice cream sandwiches your kids will play “Ice Cream Shop” with. Plus it will look SO pretty next to the tree when Santa delivers it during the wee hours on Christmas morning!

GIFTS FOR ALL THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE EVERYTHING:

  1. The Sunday Morning Box: This box includes all of the things needed for a perfect Sunday morning breakfast in bed. Add this breakfast tray and this gift is perfect for a newlywed, new homeowner, best friend and more.

  2. The Little Book of Hygge: This book is all about the little things that create a comfortable and cozy home, and it’s the perfect Secret Santa gift as well. Pair this book with the Sunday Morning Box for an even bigger, complete gift.

  3. Dedicate an Olive Oil Tree in Puglia: This gift is my favorite gift BY FAR this year. Inspired by a suggestion from one of my sweet couples getting married in 2019, this gift is the ULTIMATE gift for the people who have everything including parents and grandparents! With this gift, you adopt a tree in the region of Puglia in Italy, and included with your adoption are shipments throughout the year of olive oil from your own tree! Since so many regions in Italy do not export their olive oil to other countries, this is a way for you to ensure you have the real authentic olive oil that your loved ones will be raving about. This gift is ideal for those who love to cook and is for those who love sentimental gifts above things.

  4. Personalized Throw: One of my favorite small business shops is PCB Home, a home and textile shop filled with personalized and simple gifts for one’s home. This custom throw blanket can feature any phrase, name, date, etc that you wish.

  5. Book of the Month Club: This subscription is the gift of a new well-loved book every month for a year. Perfect for the readers in your life, especially grandparents. And it’s a gift that keeps on giving 😉

  6. The Coravin Wine Opener: This wine opener is the ultimate gadget for wine lovers who enjoy savoring wine. A different type of bottle opener, this gadget pierces a tiny hole through the cork of a bottle and extracts wine rather than opening the entire bottle. This preserves the wine and keeps it fresh longer so that if you just enjoy one glass of wine, you won’t risk having to throw away the entire bottle.

  7. Diptyque Candle Set: These candles are the best, and look so chic on any coffee table or night stand. Anyone you buy these for will love them.

  8. Just Married Ornament: For all the couples in your life who were married this year.

  9. Homebody by Joanna Gaines: This book is an incredible coffee table book and perfect for the interior designer, new homeowner or just someone who is a fan of Joanna Gaines’ and Fixer Upper… which, who isn’t?!

And there you have it, friends! Gifting is such a love language for me, and finding the perfect and thoughtful gift for a loved one is one of my favorite parts of Christmas and the holiday season! I hope you all enjoy this festive week and weekend celebrating Thanksgiving, getting your Christmas tree, shopping the sales and being with each other!
